While driving along a local highway on my way to work one morning I noticed construction equipment being moved into an open field. My first thought was they are starting a new construction project. Actually, in this part of Lenexa, Ks
there was a building boom taking place and this building was the beginning of the boom. I left the thought behind as I continued to my office. Over the next few days more and more equipment was being brought in, now I was sure there was
construction taking place. Every day I drove by this now designated construction site. There would be days I would notice the growth and days that it appeared that nothing was happening. As time continued on there were mounds of dirt as
they dug huge holes to start laying the infra-structure. Sewer pipes, waterlines and other things that entailed infra-structure. According the Merriam Webster infra-structure means "below;" so the infrastructure is the "underlying
structure. Driving by I unable to see the infra-structure but I saw evidence that things were changing. Without knowing the exact time table, I drove by one day and there were trucks loaded with iron beams, concrete truck. Contractors
trucks that I had not
As I watched the growth and change God put an amazing thought in my mind. God asked me the question, how much growth and change did I have in my life while this construction project was going on? We watch highways being built; new high-rise building constructed but what are we allowing God to transform in us? I John 3: 2-3 “Yes, dear friends, we are already God’s children, right now, and we can’t even imagine what it is going to be like later on. But we do know this, that when he comes, we will be like him, as a result of seeing him as he really is. And everyone who really believes this will try to stay pure because Christ is pure.” God is constantly wanting to transform us into more of His likeness. Allow yourself to be Under Construction. There may be times when God is working on the infra-structure where there does not feel like much progress is being made but allow him to do his work. Philippians 1:6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. What area’s in your life do you need to grow and expand? For some people there has to be a demolition project done first. Hurts, fears, anxiety, anger and strongholds need to be torn down so God can build something new in you.
